Yep Locallyswiss is tremendously looking for authors and bloggers to go online. We’re looking for people that would like to contribute to this project in any way, mostly by writing posts, but even by making videos or photos of the city the live in would be great.

Locallyswiss has one primary aim: spreading Swiss coolness around the world with local eyes.

Why should you join our crew?
Because there’s nothing out there on the Web like Locallyswiss. On one hand, you can find thousands of websites and blogs talking about Swiss culture and, on the other hand, websites and forums for expats that can give you great resources. But none of these is like Locallyswiss. None of them is as focused as Locallyswiss on the single cities and their “inner” life, paying attention to different points of view by real people and to their own voices.
Everybody out there likes to talk about Swiss culture, Locallyswiss loves to spread Swiss coolness around. That’s the difference.

Which cities are we interested in (for now)?

Lugano
Zurich
Geneva
Bern
Lausanne

What should future authors and bloggers post about?
Tips, useful information about the city, advice on where to have the best pizza in town, write brief reviews about places they visit but mostly tell the world their point of view about the city they’re actually living through their posts.

Every post, video and photo you publish on Locallyswiss will come with a bio box that contains any information and links you’d like to be published as your blog or personal website.

What do you need to become an author for Locallyswiss?
Live in the city you’d like to write about. Swiss, foreigner, visiting student, it doesn’t matter: your point of view is what Locallyswiss is looking for.
You don’t need to be a professional writer nor having past writing experiences. Just be so passionate to tell others about your experience in a Swiss city and feel proud about spreading Swiss coolness.
If you’re interested in this idea, fill in this form and we’ll be back at you as fast as we can.

It’s been a while since I published Locallyswiss placeholder page but no blog layout has come up yet. It’s a hell of a nightmare developing your idea all by yourself: you need to plan everthing and doing it. Then one day you come up with a new idea and restart all over again your developing process to integrate this last one. That’s really exausting. And you’re getting no money out of this, at least for now and you fear it could be for ever, but you believe it’s not your case.

During summer I had problems with my Web designer and things got tremendously delayed and I did’t have the possibility to keep up the work, at least the designing parts.

In these days, we’re back to work and really hard working on blog layout and everything starts materializing in front of my eyes and it looks kinda cool.
How will the new blog layout be? I like minimalist layout, where reader can read easily what she desire and interact with the provided content.
That’s why Locallyswiss blog layout can be described with the following adjectives: fresh, clean, moslty white with one-side bar on the righ for the navigation of the content and advertising boxes, a great footer and 3 menus (upper, main and lower).
What’s is distinctive is the possibility for the reader to navigate through others city blogs directly by clicking the name of the desidered city that she finds just below the logo.

Today I can’t show you Locallyswiss blog layout but soon I will.

I think travelling is amazing and one of the most stereotyped country (except the Italian “spaghetti, pizza, mafia and mandolino”) is Switzerland: cheese, cows, cuckoo watch, banks and that’s it. When people think about Switzerland, they actually think this stuff. But, as any stereotyped concept, Swiss culture is deeper and much more interesting than this one pictured above.

I’ve just moved to Switzerland and I said to myself “Let’s get to know this country” so I started to travel a little around the country (as much as my work let me), making online researches to learn new things about this country, reading online newspapers, chatting with people while having a beer.
Then I got the idea: why not sharing these useful informations about Swiss cities I get from direct experience or researches with other people? Hey, even better, why not talking to others and see if they’d like to share their knowledge about their city and put together all this great amount of useful contents? The more, the better.

And then I came up with Locallyswiss, a network of city blogs covering Swiss cities life made with several contributors that actually live in these cities and know best what they write about, because it’s their town. Locallyswiss targets newcomers in town, those who need useful information about the city they’re now living in, as well as those that are already resident and eager to know their local environment.

I like websites that give me information about my city or the city I’m living in right now (because of my job, University, etc.). In addition, I like those websites that help me live my “new” city by suggesting good restaurants to try on Friday nights and, most of all, give me tips and useful information about that city. I trust real people and their opinions unlike press releases or some “old” journos writing good reviews to have free lunch.

I’m thrilled to launch Locallyswiss: the idea is to offer great contents about local communities in a peculiar and unique way. Be part of Locallyswiss means to assume that you love your city and your first aim, from here now, would be to write about it, always discovering new amazing anecdotes about your city and spread the Swiss coolness around the world.

Would you like to become a Locallyswiss’ blogger? Tell us which city you’d like to cover and something about you, just to know you better.
